Week One- Slendertone System Abs Review

Posted by Sap

The team have all been using the Slendertone System- Abs for a week. I asked them a range questions and captured some of their thoughts on how they felt they got on.

Presentation and Information:

- Overall the team rated the Slendertone packaging: 9/10

- I asked the team about the Slendertone instructions and booklet: 8/10

Slendertone System-Abs- Ease of use…

Overall we found the Slendertone equipment very simple to use. It was good to see not so many buttons on the remote control… the simpler the better for me! I did’nt really read all the instructions, I was so keen just to get going and start using the product.

Richard rated ease of use 10/10: ” This was so simple to setup and the control is very easy to operate, I am very impressed by the ease of use.”

Matt felt: “Ease of set up I would give 7/10 it was quite hard disconnecting the digital meter thing (not sure what its called) and I was a bit confused which way the pads went. Easy of use I would give 9/10 its sometimes a bit of pain when you pull it off, the pads sometimes get stuck to you.”

Ash’s thoughts: “8/10, the quick start guide is very good. I haven’t used other instructions, just used intuition to use controls.”

Slendertone System-Abs- Flexibility…

We all used it in a range of places, at home, at work and running.

Ash reported whilst running with the toning belt thatthe belt, “Stays pretty still whilst running. The controller is excellent size and great position for putting in your pocket when running. It’s not too heavy either. The pads are slightly warn and loosing stickiness after 6 work outs and 2 long distance runs.”

Matt reported, “I usually have it on while watching tv so I’ve not really tested it doing anything else, I did try standing up but I found it a bit awkward to walk with it on.”

Most of used it our desks as well. I did’nt find it was that distracting so I definately would recommend using it in an office type job.

Slendertone System-Abs- Can you see/feel the difference?

Rachel felt, “Her obliques were more toned.”

Ash reported, “After week one my stomach is slightly more firm, no definition as yet. Intend to step up the routine this week.”

Sam, “Stomach feels a bit tighter but no visual difference”

Matt, “Yes I can feel a tightness which makes me feel like I’m getting somewhere!”

Richard, “It is definatley doing some good – I feel much better about myself and believe that it is working.”

I can really tell the difference, especially round the sides. Rachel even noticed earlier today. I’m more motivated than ever now to excercise and get into tip top shape. Some of the team felt it had changed their attitude in leading a healthy way of living.

Sam tells all about Slendertone System-Abs

Posted by Sam

“When I first cut open the cardboard box revealing my new Slendertone System-Abs I was very impressed with the packaging. A nice looking black box with white and gold writing labelled my new gadget that I’d been waiting for. Once fully opened I had a closer look at the black nylon belt and the small control unit which housed an LCD screen on the front with a few well laid out buttons. I later found out that this contains the rechargeable battery and is the brains behind the belt. I put this on charge at lunchtime and by 3 o clock decided to give it a try.

A brief look at the quick start guide and I was off. I was instructed to open the belt out fully and to locate the 3 gel-like pads that were to be stuck to the inside of the belt. On the inside of the belt are guides as to where you stick the pads, depending how big your waist is. This unit can cater for those with a waist size as small as 27” up to the more mature 47” waist. I have a 33” waist so stuck the 2 side gel pads next to the first inner line as indicated in the manual. There is also a pad that sticks in the centre of the belt which would cover the belly button area.

Once all pads where in place I peeled back the thin protecting plastic covers which revealed a squidgy gel pad which sticks to your skin once the belt is wrapped around you. It is easily fitted and fastened with Velcro and feels very comfortable once you get over the sensation of the cool gel pads.

The belt was on so next I plugged the charged control unit into it, clipping it into a plug on the front of the belt. Hold down the power button on the unit and it turns on revealing X:10 and then 20:00 which if you check in your manual means the most basic setting for the belt, the best one when starting off. Next I pressed on one of the two up arrows. Each arrow controls the left and right power respectively. When pressing on the arrows, a number appears on the screen indicating the power on each side. I think the idea is that if the muscles on the left hand side of your stomach aren’t as strong as your right, you can adjust accordingly. I upped the power to five as I couldn’t feel anything and then I felt it! There was a small amount of twitching on my right side which is a very weird sensation. I had to up the power on the left side to feel anything and to get a balance. I can’t say I’ve ever felt this sensation before, it did take a minute to get used to it and then I upped the power again. At first it did feel a little odd or uncomfortable, but then again that could have been me trying to push it too quickly too hard!

My first use of the Slendertone System-Abs went well and I managed to get up to power setting 45. At this setting you can really start to feel your stomach muscles involuntarily contracting and it sometimes moves you forward in doing so. I intend to keep on using the Slendertone system at work as I know I’ll forget at home. I’ll keep you posted on how I get on.”

Slendertone gives Matt a positive outlook in health and well being

Posted by Matt

“So far this week I have only gone 1 day without using the slendertone as I thought I should have a break, I think its psychological but i’ve been feeling more active and have started walking more, at the weekend I took a long stroll along the beach with my girlfriend and our dogs, which is something we wouldn’t normally do. I’ve also started buying some healthier foods to help things along, I decided I might as well get up 15 mins earlier before work and just buy some healthy snacks for the day so I don’t end up eating chocolate or whatever comes to hand. I’ve noticed a slight different physically, nothing major but I’m more positive and feel I’m moving in the right direction.”

My views so far of the Slendertone System-Abs… it’s flexible for your lifestyle!

Hi, it’s Sap here!

I didn’t use Slendertone over the weekend but I did use it this morning. I had it on program three, level 50, whilst at work. This was quite a strong work out for me.
Overall impressions so far are that it’s easy to use, you can use it it anywhere. I actually use it during work which is convenient and its not really that distracting. This is the beauty about the product, you can use it anywhere and everywhere.

I might try it when I go running this week. My aim is go to the gym three times this week.

Surprisingly enough over the weekend, I felt my party dress fit better and I felt more confident in it. I could do with toning the arms a bit though. I may have to try another Slendertone arm toning product next!

Running with Slendertone System

Hi Ash reporting here.

My first weekend with the Slendertone and it was used just the once. A 4k run around my local area with the Slendertone was a good work out. After a few beers and a curry Saturday night I needed some exercise and was keen to crank the Slendertone up past 50 whilst running on Sunday. The run was good and it felt more natural in an upright position (rather then sitting down in the office), so once a good pace was set the Slendertone could hardly be felt on level 55. The times you could feel the belt working was when there was a steep hill and the running pace slowed down.

Still no aches today but I hope that with a run this evening the level can be increased. I was impressed that the belt did not loose any grip whilst running.

Day Seven- Richard cranks Slendertone System-Abs to another level

Posted by Richard

“I used the slender tone 3 times today as I hadn’t used it over the weekend.

I started at program 5 for 30 and then went up to 6 at 30 which was a good work out. I had the power up to 70 for both sessions

Again it feels like I have done a work out on my abs. Its been 5 sessions so far and each one is more rigorous. I have not noticed any difference yet.”

Over the weekend…Rachel reports the Slendertone System-Ab’s is making progress!

Posted by Rachael

“Just an update on my tummy toning machine!

Well I used it for the 4th time on Saturday, and I definitely feel more confident with my stomach. It feels more toned, but I am still aware that I need to keep up my cardiovascular workouts as well, because I need to get rid of my fat tissue, (fat and muscle are two different body tissues), so that my toned abdominal region is more apparent. So I still worked out at the Gym 3 times last week, as well as biking to work twice (about 4-5 mile journey one way).

I think it is a true fact that some of my abdominal muscles are becoming more toned, because a toned muscle can be defined as a muscle that is constantly in a slight stage of contraction. So using my ab machine 3-5 times a week will keep it contracted enough for it to feel overall more toned.”

Slendertone Day Three – Feeling slightly achy

Richard reported, ” Went to level 4 today, and started at 60 working up to 70. I don’t feel like I had such a large work out as yesterday, perhaps that’s because I did some cycling earlier. The battery is still at 3 out of 3 bars after 80 minutes of use which is impressive.”

Ashley reported, “After an evening session with the Slendertone on Day 2 I am starting to feel a little achy today. I have managed to work my way to level 50 on work out session 2 this afternoon, it was a slightly painful experience but at least I can feel it work my abs. Tomorrow will be a good test at getting up in the morning as I am sure I will ache slightly more.

The On/Off switch is getting slightly annoying as I have to hold it down forever to get it to do anything. The belt has had 6 uses so far and the pads are still sticky….”

Slendertone Day Two- Going up another level

Richard reported, ” I have just used the slendertone for the second time, I started at level 3 this time, unlike level 1 yesterday as it didn’t seem like a very big work out. I felt the difference immediately and did 30 minutes at 60, eventually increasing the power to 80 for the last 10 minutes.

My stomach feels like I have just done 100 situps. It feels really good like I have done a lot of exercise.”

Ashley reported, “Initial thoughts when opening the box were very impressive. Everything is boxed up nice and neatly, looks like Slendertone have taken care with the presentation. The belt needs charging for a few hours so bare that in mind. I was pleased to see a quick start guide, I was up and running with the pads stuck on within 5 minutes.

I immediately cranked up the to level 30 so I could feel the belt doing something. I have worn the belt for 2 days now and still on level 1 at a 45. My stomach isn’t aching yet but I’m sure by the end of the week I will be feeling it a little.

I intend to go running later this week so will be interesting how the belt says on whilst moving”

The Slendertone Trial Begins… Day one

Richard reported, “I started on program one and quickly had the power on 40. The default first program a 20 minute work out was very good and I felt like I was doing a lot of sit ups. I will be going to the next level tomorrow as I feel I could have done more time and more reps.”

Matt says, ” First impressions of the product was that the packaging made the product feel really classy. I didn’t realise that the pads need replacing after only 30 sessions, I only realised after I found the sales leaflet inside the outer-packing.

The first time I set it up I put the pads on the wrong way round, I’m never very good at reading instructions, I usually don’t bother and try and work it out out myself.

A few years ago I had tried a friends abs belt and I didn’t like the sensation, the belt seemed to jolt your entire stomach periodically which was not pleasant, this made me a bit hesitant about using the Slendertone abs system. After a few minutes using the Slendertone system I found the sensation was a sort of gradual vibrating feeling, It was a nice surprise and was definitely a nicer sensation than the abs belt I had used before. I started off with a lower number just to get used to it as I was a bit unsure, I gradually built it up to about 40 and did a 20 minute session, I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all afterwards. The next morning I thought I could see a difference already! Maybe its just wishful thinking, but I will definitely continue using it.

Rachael reported, “Well, Iast night was the first experience of my slendertone belt was strange but effective!

Before I started using the Slendertone belt I had already been progressing my abdominal muscle strength by following various abdominal workouts at the gym. I believe in using a variety of abdominal resistance work to progress my abdominal strength so that you are always testing the body, by forcing it to learn new movements and levels of resistance. I also believe in toning all of your abdominal muscles (inner and outer), so that you’re stabilizing muscles are utilized as well.

I started my work out on programme 2, level 28 on the right and left side of my stomach. I felt like my stomach muscles were being forced to contract, with my left side contracting more than my right! This I didn’t understand because I had both sides on the same level! I also found that I naturally felt like I had to stand up whilst I was using the belt, and if I sat down, my body naturally felt like it wanted to sit upright whilst I also wanted to hold my stomach strong using my inner core muscles. Afterwards I the skin on my stomach felt slightly sore, but I was enthusiastic to use it again on a higher level.”

I have to admit I was bit worried and slightly nervous about using this toning belt. I had never tried anything like this before and was not sure whether I’d enjoy the sensation. After watching everyone eagerly putting their Slendertone System-Abs, (which was incredibly amusing!), I plucked the courage and with a helping hand from my work buddy Ashley I switched it on.

I absolutely loved the sensation and could feel it was really working around my abdominal area. I had it on for twenty minutes on level 25 and there were no negative after effects (another of my worries). The toning belt was incredibly easy to use, completely comfortable. Slendertone also have a great instruction book with a diary/chart to keep to help track your performance, which is actually very handy.

After using it, I went off to the gym and I was thinking to myself, “If I can get a flat tummy and combine this with excersise, hopefully I’ll be fit and in shape by November for my holiday!” Anyway, I’ll keep you posted. I’m going to crank it up to the next level next time.
