Pippa begins the toning trial with Slendertone Flex
I was desperate to try out a Slendertone Flex toning belt for several reasons:
- complete cynicism that they didn’t work, therefore very curious!
- I graduated last year and so now have no money to afford one myself
- my lifestyle has had a mad change from being a busy student, rushing between lectures, the gym and my even busier social life, to a receptionist – which is in itself really busy, just sat on my backside all day working at a computer!
At the moment I can’t afford the gym membership, so I try and walk most places, which is the only proper exercise I’m doing, along with the old sit-ups and crunches back at my flat.
I used to have a BMI of 17 (maybe a bit too low) but it’s now shot up to 25 over the last couple of years, and so it’s time to get it back down again. Apart from the random, inconsistent exercise, I do in general eat really healthily – everything’s homemade, never ready meals or take-away – just the odd bit of chocolate indulgence which every girl needs!
An huge appeal to using a Slendertone Flex belt, is that you can get on with other things whilst you’re toning – a massive advantage in a busy schedule. There’s so much I’d like to do – getting back in to my dancing and going to the gym, but other commitments come first at this moment in time.
I received the belt last week but didn’t get home until after 11pm totally shattered. In my excitement though I tried to read through all the instructions in my tired state and got the controller on charge. Initially I found it quite hard to get the positioning right, as the pads weren’t working equally on either side of my waist – something i’m still working on.
The belts intensity ranges from 1-99 and it recommended to start at an intensity of 15. So, always being one to follow instructions, I used level 15, but have subsequently gone up to intensity 55, where i can definitely feel it starting to work. It also recommends that you only use it five times a week and give your muscles a ‘rest’. At first I thought that was a stupid idea, but I definitely needed a rest this morning – may use it again tonight though. I’ve only used it four or five times, so I’m not expecting to see any results yet, but really hoping it lives up to my expectations!…
Karate Kid’s Slendertone System Abs Progress
A week has gone past already and 5 sessions completed on the Slendertone system-abs. The Slendertone
system is easy to use and no problem allowing you to continue any normal chores or sit in front of the telly. I have noticed the contractions appear more intense whilst sitting down rather than standing.
I thought I may have overdone things too soon as I was unwell on Saturday with a light head and stomach pains but I now believe this was a 24-hour bug and not the machine. I started back on the programme so I only had the two rest days as planned. I haven’t noticed any real difference so far but have stepped up to programme 6 that gives a longer and different workout that I have so far found better and more comfortable. The battery lasted for 6 sessions before recharging was required. I am still trying to increase the intensity but haven’t ventured over 50 as yet as the contractions are very strong and causes a little back-ache. I am guessing here that if you already have stronger muscles that the contractions will be stronger and if you have weaker muscles the user will require a higher input to get the same results. Does anyone know if this is the case?
Not sure how long the Slendertone pads might last for as they are very sticky and I have to be careful when peeling them off my skin after a session.
No pain no gain, here’s to the six pack!

Week One: Salsa Chick’s progress with Slendertone Flex Max
I’ve now had the Slendertone Flex Max for over a week and am really enjoying it. I have no idea if it’s doing
any good but with the contractions I endure surely it must be!!
I feel quite foolish about my initial entry as I wrote about the intensity being 4/5 and, admittedly not being able to increase it (thinking it was down to the machine itself). Still don’t know if that was the case or if it was user error. Anyway, through using the Slendertone Flex Max for six days out of seven, I’ve got on to Slendertone Programme 4 with an intensity level of about 75 – really feeling it now. J
It’s so easy to use; I come in from work and just put it on whilst I’m cooking dinner (sounds ironic, I know). If there’s a time I can’t quite fit it in, then I put it on whilst travelling in the car (not driving I hasten to add). There really is no excuse for not using it.
Took some measurements so that I will know my before and after for 4-8 weeks time. Fingers crossed…

Chris starts on the Slendertone System Abs- the beer belly is trying to fight its way back
Ok so I have not posted for a fair few weeks, also not really been using the Slendertone Belt either, been a bit
busy moving house and being ill.
Anyway, I found my Slendertone systems abs belt last night unpacking a few things at home, decided that I would have to start using it again. I have noticed that I have been losing shape and muscle tone on my stomach – that’s right the beer belly is trying to fight its way back.
So this morning I have used the system for 2 sessions, both times on programme 6 on setting 60, so quiet a hard session. First session was first thing this morning when having breakfast; second session was when I got to work this morning.
I am still going to the gym, but finding it’s getting really busy, but there is a new gym opening up in my town, so going to check it out soon. Also I have been running a fair amount over the last week. I have a group of friends that have started running each night after work. Will give you an update next week on progress.
Planning to use the belt everyday this week, I am sure there will be some changes, I can feel better muscle tone since this morning!
Salsa Chick steps up to the Slendertone Flex Max challenge
So this is it – the girl who’s never knowingly had a stomach muscle now has the Slendertone Flex Max. Very
excitedly I opened the box and ‘prepared’ my Flex Max. Whilst normally being an advocate of instructions, I was so eager to try my Slendertone that I scanned quickly and just put it on (I promise I’ll read the instructions thoroughly before I next use it).
What’s my background? Well, I’m a Salsa dancer & teacher and whilst I eat fairly healthily, can’t resist the ‘cakes’ in the office and chocolate. I try and walk where I can and every morning do 10 minutes on a Cross Trainer or Total Gym (at home). I HATE the thought of going to the Gym and any exercise that doesn’t involve fun of some sort BUT having had a weight problem since the age of 13 have to keep on top of things. Also, I’m married to Karate Kid and he’s the epitome of discipline so is always on my case about what I eat and what exercise I do.
Some years ago, friends had a muscle stimulation ‘thing’ with pads. They tried it on me and said they’d keep it low as it was new, however, they had to turn it right up before I could feel it – not sure what that means but I’m sure it’s down to my lack of any apparent muscles in the stomach area.
Last night I put the new Slendertone Flex Max on. First it was a bit too high (I have a high waist so that’s probably why) – so I moved it down a bit so it was slightly below my waist. I tried to increase the intensity till I could feel it but it only went up to 4 – think that’s because it was my first time. That was for 20 minutes or so. Then after that, I put it on again and managed to increase it to 5 – this was a stronger feeling, again for 20 minutes. It was strange – a little bit tingly but didn’t stop me working away on a spreadsheet on my PC. J
I’m looking forward to trying again tonight – increasing the intensity and checking the position is correct, and reading the instructions of course!

Welcome entry: Karate Kid tries out Slendertone System Abs
I am more than 25 and less than 50 but still only 21. I try to keep fit and well by playing 5-a-side football, salsa dancing and now back in to my karate. Also at home I have a total gym and a cross trainer and at the weekend we try not to use the car where possible and walk. Keeping fit and trim as you get older is difficult, I like my food and beer but trying to cut back to help.
I have seen these devices advertised many times and always wondered if they would work and be better than working out and getting hot. So now is may chance to see.
We should see results in 4 weeks, we are off on holiday in ten weeks so should be looking good on the beach.
I received my Slendertone System today and initially thought it was more than an abs toner and that there would be other attachments for other areas. The instructions are quite clear but it might be worth considering marking the connections so it is easier to ensure which way up they should be connected. Also the clip is a little fiddly.
The battery is now fully charged so I will start the programme tomorrow. Another point are the different programmes to choose from and what to select, I consider my self fit and with strong stomach muscles so would perhaps go for the upper programmes but should you start at the bottom and work up? Also maybe the programmes should say how they equate to a work out ie programme 1 equivalent to doing 100 sit-ups.
We shall see, no karate tonight as my instructor has gone to America to train, any one else interested in martial arts.

Michael’s progress with the Slendertone System Abs
Ive always suffered with a little excess fat on my belly, I used it 3 times a week and within the first 3 weeks i
noticed a slight change, so I’ve continued to use for almost two months now, and I’m real happy with my body now, my belly has toned with increased definition (thanks to Slendertone System Abs!) and I would strongly reccomend it to anybody wanting to tone up for a holiday or summer now that the warmer weather is supposedly on the way!!

My silhouette has significantly improved with Slendertone System Shorts
I’m in my fourth week, and I’m really into the routine of using the Slendertone System Shorts now.
Though initially difficult to get used to putting them on, it’s a bit less time consuming, and I am definitely seeing the results!
I feel that my silhouette is significantly improved, and I feel more comfortable in my jeans.
It’s no replacement for regular exercise, but definitely a worth while addition.

Stephen progress with Slendertone System Abs
Not much to update from my last post, I am now on week 7 and am liking the effects of the Slendertone belt. I am still a
long way off where I want to be but I am heading in the right direction. One interesting update is that I have now changed the pads on the belt for the first time. Having done this when I first used the unit it proved to be a much simpler process and although the pads are very sticky on both sides I fitted them without problems.
With the start of the new cricket season I am hoping my increased strength in my stomach should improve my core stability and lead to less back pains when bowling.
Stephen
