Mark’s first week using Slendertone

I did have an old model Slendertone and the new model is much easier to use, from operation and charging. Less hassle means I will end up using it more, well I hope so any way. The set up was easy, a couple of issues easily sorted out through the manual though.

I have been training heavily since January to get fit from a couple of various injuries I had, so maybe would have got different results, but since January have lost about 5kgs in weight and dropped a couple of waist sizes. Now I train about 4 times a week in the evenings, 2 bootcamp training and twice in the gym from spinning to swimming to circuits and also am active over the weekend, refereeing mostly, so hopefully the slendertone will be able to give me a firm stomach area. I understand about my body fat content and I hope with the training and the slendertone that I will be able to see results over the 4 weeks and maybe even a bit of a six pack, we will have to wait and see. I use the machine, twice a day, I know its over the recommendations, but I feel that 1 session isn’t enough and I need more, I’m up to program 3 and about 70 on the intensity.

Blaise’s week one of using Slendertone Abs

Week 1 – 5 session of slendertone is done. And it feels pretty bloody good already. I must say I was a little dubious about it before the first session. The saying goes that only fools do not change their minds, and it proves quite right.

I started my first session thinking that not having done any abs crunches in quite some time, I should stick to the beginner program (20min on 30 for each pad). I somehow managed to increase both the time and the intensity of the work out to 65 and 25min by the fifth session. And let me tell you, it does feel like a work out! You can definitely ‘feel’ your abs the day after, as one would from doing crunches. But it is just a lot easier a regime to stick to.

So onto to the 2nd week now to increase the intensity and the time of the work out further, and get those results ahead of summer.

To be continued…

Kerry’s first week using Slendertone Abs

I’ve never used an electronic muscle toning system before and the first time I used it the sensation was very strange as I didn’t actually expect to feel it working at all. I soon got used to it though, when the 20 minutes was up and the machine beeped I had forgotten all about it. The next day I could already feel a difference, my abs definitely felt as if they’d had a bit of a workout. So that day I felt I would up the intensity, on my first day I did 20 minutes of 20:20 and on the 2nd day I decided to do 25:25 for the same amount of time. Also this time I wore the belt whilst cooking my dinner, it is so easy to fit it into your daily routine!

Kate’s first week using the Slendertone Abs

Week One
The motivation for trialling the Slendertone System-Abs was the attempt to eliminate or at minimum reduce my modest but ever-present muffintop. My starting approach was that the Slendertone System-Abs would be to exercise what vitamins are to a healthy diet – a useful supplement to keep you tiptop. Of course, I think my passion for chocolate and all things sugary has as much to do with my round belly as anything so should probably address that issue at the same time!

In my first week I only used the belt 3 times for which I blame being laid up with flu. I did entertain the idea of remotely exercising whilst laying prone with fever on my bed but eventually concluded that it wouldn’t technically be restful!

Setting up the belt, was really easy using the quick start instructions. I left the battery on charge overnight by accident but it doesn’t seem to have done any damage.
My first session was 20 minutes at 25 dubries and the second was 20 mins on 30. I didn’t feel any discomfort though by the end of the first session did feel I had had enough of the weird sensation of being poked in the tummy. You do get used to it though and haven’t had that compulsion since. For my third session I upped the minutes to 30 on 30 dubries. In the last 7 minutes I felt a little tightening in my left abs and so reduced the power quite a bit as a warm down.

It’s fair to say that by the end of week one I could feel my stomach muscles getting firmer and I’d learnt that I could manually adjust the controls to suit how my muscles were reacting to the belt.
